The Beginning of "Dark Side of the Moon"

The album cover for The Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd, is arguably one of the most famous album covers of all time, next to The Beatles' Abbey Road. I feel like this is a good way to debut my ceramics projects. I want something simple but notable to start with.

Adding the Underglaze

This was my first attempt at painting with underglaze on a piece. It was a challenge for me not to mix the colors, but seeing how many layers of underglaze this piece took to truly be colorful, the way I imagined. Unfortunately, the corner of this piece cracked, but later, I can look back, and it will show how much I have progressed.

The Start of the Monster v.01

This is the start of the challenging process of creating a monster for the third grader assigned to me. The monster is supposed to be a dog-like creature with a spiky tail and a baseball cap, holding a sign that says "don't mess with me." I know that this will be a challenge for me, but I didn't expect this many challenges to occur.

The end of the Monster v.01

Unfortunately, after a full class period working on carving out the monster, and creating a head, arms, and a sign for the monster, the creation fell to the floor. This might be a sign, though, because all good things must come to an end, and the next take will just be better than this one. Version 2 will come soon.

Recreation of the Monster

This is my second attempt of the monster, coming in with a different approach. This time I tried to give the monster the sign that the kid wanted, but this time the monster would be propped up with the sign instead of holding it. This worked for a little bit but unfortunately
